Since the death of Johnny Hallyday on December 5, 2017, his home in Marnes-la-Coquette (Hauts-de-Seine) has remained empty. For the past few months, as revealed by Paris Match, it is not for lack of having tried to sell it to the highest bidder. Laeticia Hallyday, the widow of the great French singer, has already suffered two failures after promises of sale, concluded in the space of six months.

The singer had himself tried to sell it for the sum of 26 million euros, without success. Since the beginning of 2022, Laeticia Hallyday has put it back on the market in order to pay off the debts of her rocker husband. A couple signed the promise of sale in January 2022 for 10.5 million euros, but stopped their process for lack of funding.

In June 2022, Laeticia Hallyday entered into litigation with the property dealer Pierre Reynaud. As reported by Marianne, the widow believes that the businessman did not respect all the guarantees inherent in his promise to sell of 8.45 million euros. The property is unsaleable until the legal proceedings between them have been completed. Which does not help Laeticia Hallyday, who must pay a dozen million euros to the tax authorities in September 2022.

In the meantime, according to Paris Match, Laeticia Hallyday will continue to bring Johnny’s memory to life. Her personal belongings (clothes, jewelry, photos, etc.) have been brought together and will be shown to the public during a major traveling exhibition, which will pass through Brussels in December 2022 and Paris in January 2023. The opportunity to dive into the heart of the daily life of the star of the song, which should delight the fans.

Johnny Hallyday died on December 5, 2017 from lung cancer, which he had been battling for several months. He had hardly left La Savannah, his home in Marnes-la-Coquette, for eight months. The announcement of his death caused a real stir.

A large funeral procession descended the Champs-Élysées, followed by nearly a million people. The President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron also delivered a eulogy, broadcast live by all national channels. Johnny Hallyday left behind four children, David, Laura, Jade and Joy.
