Sachets of salad have been recalled since Wednesday, July 20, 2022. Two sheets have been issued on the Conso Recall site for products sold throughout France by E. Leclerc and Monoprix. They could indeed contain traces of listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium responsible for listeriosis.
The first recall concerns 125 g sachets of “oak leaf” salad, of the “Notre jardin” brand, marketed between July 5 and 13 in E. Leclerc stores. The lots bear the number 40325127 and the barcode 3564700632260. “The reference whose DLC is exceeded was no longer marketed beyond the date entered but is the subject of the recall”, specifies the government site.
Another product sold in the fruit and vegetable department, but this time at Monoprix: “oak leaf” salad, packaged in 125g packets. The product was offered to consumers from July 6 to July 13. The batches concerned bear the number 40325125 and the barcode 3350030184063. Again, Conso reminder specifies: “The reference whose DLC is exceeded was no longer marketed beyond the date entered but is the subject of the recall.”
A listeria contamination can lead to different symptoms. People who have eaten the salad and who have the following concerns should seek medical attention promptly: fever, isolated or accompanied by headache, and body aches. “Pregnant women as well as immunocompromised people and the elderly should be particularly attentive to these symptoms”, specifies Rappel conso.
“Severe forms with neurological complications and maternal or fetal damage in pregnant women can also sometimes occur,” warns the official site. Listeriosis is a disease that can be serious and must be treated with antibiotics, explains the Ministry of Health. The incubation period can be up to eight weeks. According to figures from Public Health France, 300 to 400 cases of listeriosis are diagnosed each year in the country, i.e. an annual incidence of 5 to 6 cases per million inhabitants.
