Succession is rare among investors too. This is why the Government of Quebec is investing $3 million in Front Row Ventures for the continuation of its venture capital training activities.
Front Row Ventures was founded in 2017 by three Quebec students to train the next generation of venture capitalists by immersing them directly in the action. This private training, unique in Quebec, is “a nurturing force for the technological ecosystem,” said the fund’s general manager, Emmanuelle Coppinger, who welcomes the government’s boost.
The Quebec government’s contribution, through Investissement Québec, will feed a $5 million fund that plans to invest between $25,000 and $50,000 in early stage technology companies. A portion of these investments must be made in Quebec. Since its inception, Front Row Ventures has trained 200 students from Quebec universities and made 24 investments.
