Pentecost disrupted by bad weather If many motorists are preparing to take the wheel to take advantage of this extended weekend of rest, it will be necessary to be careful on the roads: since this Friday, June 3, 2022, thunderstorms, hail, rain and gusts of wind are expected. And this, until Sunday, June 5, 2022. According to the forecasts of La Chaîne Météo, France “will find itself this weekend in a situation of conflict between fresh air arriving from the near Atlantic and hot air rising from the Maghreb towards Central Europe”. Thus, violent storms are to be expected throughout the country, both in the north-west, the Paris basin, the center, the south-west… According to forecasters, after a lull this Saturday morning, they are expected this afternoon and this evening from the Channel coasts to the North-East and to the South-West of the country.

They will be greater in some places than others. These storms will also be accompanied by intense rain (locally 40 to 60 mm in a short time), violent gusts of wind and hail.

In our slideshow below, discover the 60 departments where you will have to be particularly vigilant about bad weather this weekend.

Note: the information provided is based on Météo France forecasts for this Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 6 a.m. They are valid until Sunday June 5 at 6 a.m. as well, but are subject to change.

Despite electric weather across the country, it will be quite hot, with maximum temperatures between 22 and 27°C in the north and 28 to 35°C in the south. “Sunday, temperatures will drop on average 2 to 3°C but the high temperatures will resist in the south-east”, continues the forecaster. If the stormy showers are to persist in eastern France on Pentecost Monday, better and drier weather could gradually return to the west. Case to follow!
