The first week of June will be marked by severe weather phenomena, according to forecasts from La Chaîne Météo. While a stormy deterioration is expected over half of France, lightning and thunder will come accompanied by violent gusts of wind, heavy rain and heavy hail. An episode which should resemble that experienced in mid-May, especially in Indre, where the weather was particularly severe.

In the columns of the site specializing in meteorology, Pascal Scaviner, head of the forecasting service, explains: “The potential for further bad weather is therefore high, especially since this new degradation promises to be much more lasting (3 to 4 days ) than that of May 22 and will affect many regions daily”.

This disturbance begins this Thursday, June 2, 2022, with thunderstorms expected over most of the territory as of this afternoon. Indeed, Météo France has placed around fifty departments on yellow storm vigilance until Friday June 3, 2022, six o’clock in the morning. In our slideshow below, discover the departments on alert as well as the duration of vigilance for your territory.

The situation is not about to improve in France: La Chaîne Météo predicts increased instability and an increase in thunderstorms throughout the weekend. “The rains should water more sectors than during the weekend of May 22, when hail had caused damage in the center-west”, underlines the forecaster.
