The 49th Week Nautical of The Port of Santa Maria will drop anchor next Tuesday, the 18th of August with the first qualifying events for the classes of Dinghy Sailing, Optimist, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7 and 420, this last with the Cup of Andalusia in game. A day after, Wednesday, 19, joined the class Skate Sailing and all of these fleets will compete until Thursday 20. Around 300 sailors will be in charge of raising the curtain in the bay of cadiz to the great week of Sailing, which includes the celebration of the 26th Race, Juan de La Cosa and the 49th Week of Boating for the Cruiser class from Friday 21 to Sunday 23. Both races that will come to make this next week the spotlight on the bay and province of cadiz, were presented in the morning of this Thursday at the terraces of the RCN in The Port of Santa Maria, in an act that was presided over by the chairman of the organizing Committee of the Nautical Week, Jose Maria Escribano Ivison.

The presentation was only to show for the first time the logo of the 50th anniversary of the Nautical Week which will be held next year. The act ended with the family photo next to the symbols and trophies of the regatta; the tasting glass, gold, holy, and a sign of ‘the dean’ as it is known to the Nautical Week for being the race most long-lived calendar of regattas and cruises, high-level, and the bust of Juan of The Thing.

For the sixth consecutive year the two big racing portuense together to combine efforts and facilitate the participation of the crews that will arrive from the different ports and clubs of the province of cadiz, and also of other localities of the coast of andalusia and Spanish. Similarly, the light wing will be in charge of raising the curtain with the first three days of racing -Tuesday 18 to Thursday 20 – giving the witness the Cruise ships that will sail from Friday, 21 until Sunday.

With three days of testing to decide the champions of the classes Optimist, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7 and 420, and two for the class-Skate-Sailing, Friday the 21st will begin simultaneously the regatta homage to the famous cartographer Juan de la Cosa, scoring for the Championship of Andalusia of the Cruise Circuit, and the Nautical Week for the Cruise. From that day on, the cruise will compete over the three days; two to meet the winner of the race was Juan of The Thing and until Sunday the 23rd to discover the winner of the coveted tasting glass gold cruise defends for the third consecutive year, and eighth alternate, the yacht ‘Witch’ of Federico Linares.

The appointment to begin the great week of Sailing in the waters of cadiz will be on Tuesday, June 18 from 13:00 hours, with the first tests for the classes of Dinghy Sailing in an area of racing that can be seen from the different points of the coast portuense.
