During the past weekend was played the first edition of the Race Approaches, composed by two stages coastal by the asturian coastline. The first test was played on Friday under a round trip between Gijón and Weights of approximately 40 miles. The second race was held Sunday, on this occasion, the fleet set course to the West to turn a beacon located in the vicinity of Luanco to return to Gijón, a starting point.

On the stage of the Friday the wind blew moderate, and the sea in good condition, therefore, excellent conditions for a coastal race. On Sunday the wind strength was less than that, having to delay the departure a half hour, until the anemometer dial 6 knots to begin the test.

In the class I, the Geiser, skippered by Fernando Alonso won the two races, winning the class and the general absolute of the test, The second place went to the boat avilesina Bullbox, Luis Noguera, who would occupy the second position in the overall joint. The Orbayu II, Miguel Suarez would complete the positions in the podium of the class.

The Wanted, Ricardo Simal was a magnificent Race, won in the class II, the defeat in the two races, occupying the third place in the general classification of the test. The third position was occupied by the Mulgari, of Josu Jimenez.

The Ita II, of Pedro Guerra was the fastest in the two races in class III, and therefore, the first of its group. Second with a third and a second in his locker was the Silfo, José Luis García, tied on points with the Leonids, John Quevedo third overall in the class.
