The GDP of the eurozone slumped 12.1% and the whole of the European Union 11.7% in the second quarter because of the pandemic of the COVID-19, in both cases the biggest drop since records began in 1995.

The office of community statistics, Eurostat confirmed on Friday its preliminary calculation of the decline of the GDP of the countries that share the single currency, and reduced slightly the fall in GDP in the whole continent, which in its first estimate had been encrypted in 11.9%.

In comparison with the first quarter of the year, the GDP has fallen in all member States for which Eurostat has data, being the fall of Spain
