According to our colleagues from Parisian, Sonia Rolland would have been indicted, this Monday, May 30, for “concealment of embezzlement of public funds, corruption and abuse of corporate assets”. Echoing the affair of the ill-gotten gains of the late Gabonese President Omar Bongo, the former Miss France would have received in 2003, a luxurious apartment located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, acquired illegally.
As with this apartment, other real estate acquired by African leaders was allegedly purchased through an opaque, corporate-linked embezzlement scheme. The former protege of Geneviève de Fontenay would still own this property delivered in 2006, now subject to seizure, estimated at more than 640,000 euros according to the daily. In January 2021, she was already heard on this case by the investigators as Liberation had revealed in March at the same time.
