It seems like Nic Cage has a super fan, real or fictional.

You think you are the greatest Nicolas Cage fan? In “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent,” Nicolas Cage is filmed in a new film. He invites the Oscar winner to his birthday party.

Who will play Cage? Duh! He is the man!

It all has shades of “Being John Malkovich,” and “Adaptation.” But “Massive Talent” is even more twisty — and the actor said to Entertainment Weekly that he is playing an actual character. Nic Cage invented the character “Nick Cage”. He said that the character was feeling empty and dealing with the rejection that Hollywood can bring. It’s not me. “I feel pretty good about the situation.”

Pedro Pascal plays Javi, a crime boss who pays $1 million to make the appearance in the film. Cage discovers how deeply Javi loves his performances as they chat.

Cage, 57, said that Nick has a wax statue made by Javi and you thought, “Oh, it might seem awkward between a movie star and a fan.” “But they are both cinephiles so they have wonderful conversations about The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari’ and Paddington 2′.”

Cage is joined by Neil Patrick Harris, Sharon Horgan (his ex-wife) and Tiffany Haddish (a CIA agent).

Wait, is the CIA involved? Yes. After Cage receives the invitation, the agency will seek a way for Cage to be captured, according to Tom Gormican, director and co-writer.

Cage also played two parts in 2002’s adaptation. He was Charlie Kaufman and Donald Kaufman. The first is the name of the film’s screenwriter. He’ll play both Nick and Nicky this time. Nicky is an imagined character that talks to Cage. He’s a character straight from Cage’s “Wild at Heart”. Cage stated that Nicky has long, lanky hair and is constantly riding Nick around about his career choices. I wasn’t excited about the idea of being a part of this movie, but Tom sent me this script and Nicky reminded of Jerry Lewis’ Buddy Love in The Nut Professor. He did a great job with that movie. Nicky is my favorite.

The trailer will be made available Tuesday and the film is scheduled to premiere April 22, 2022.
