According to forecasts from La Chaîne Météo, the weekend which bridges the gap between 2022 and 2023 should be marked by “a wind oriented south to southwest, channeled between a depression on the Atlantic and an anticyclone coming up from the Maghreb to France”. Overall, the weather will be both mild and humid.

For Saturday, December 31, 2022, the site specializing in meteorology forecasts rather disturbed weather over a large northern part of the territory. The clouds, which will fly over more than half of France, will sometimes be accompanied by rain and showers.

In addition, sometimes very strong gusts of wind are expected, especially near the English Channel. “The regions located from the Pyrenees to the south of the Alps and the Mediterranean will benefit from beautiful clearings in a spring atmosphere”, comments the forecaster. In terms of temperatures, it will be between 5 and 12°C in the morning and up to 15 or even 20°C in the afternoon.

This year, no snow or ice for January 1st. It will be mild everywhere, including in the mountains. “It should be noted that this trend is fairly reliable overall and that no cooling, snow or ice is expected for the New Year weekend”, specifies La Chaîne Météo.

On the temperature side, the mercury should show values ​​1 or even 2°C milder than on December 31. The latter would be close to those generally observed at the end of March, or even at the end of April as far as the south of the country is concerned.
