A macabre discovery after a day under pressure. On October 14, the police in the 19th arrondissement of Paris faced the unthinkable. But before finding the body of Lola, a 12-year-old schoolgirl, in a trunk, this day was intense for the police who set out to search for the teenager.

From the middle of the afternoon, the police station mobilized to respond to the report of Lola’s parents. “We immediately paid attention to their report because they are guardians of their building and had direct access to the videos of the surveillance cameras,” explains one of the first-line police officers in this case to BFMTV. .

Shortly after receiving the information from the teenager’s mother, a police brigade went to the scene along with the rescue police and the anti-crime brigade (BAC). They then observe the surveillance cameras and begin a neighborhood investigation.

But as they go to the parking lot of the building, the police team discovers tape and a box cutter. “We are starting to worry, we say to ourselves that we must act quickly to find Lola”, he testifies. From that moment, discovery after discovery, the case seems to darken more and more for the police.

Among these worrying clues, they notably collected the testimony of a man explaining that he had seen a “very strange woman with a trunk in which he would have understood that there was a corpse”. But, despite their efforts, the police are unable to get their hands on Lola. A few hours later, around 11 p.m., a report confirms their worst fears.

On Friday, October 14, around 11 p.m., a call reported the presence of a trunk with a body inside. “When we hear that on our radio waves, it’s a shock, our fears are crystallized. When we understand that we haven’t managed to save her, that’s the hardest part. “, confides the policeman to our colleagues.

At the scene of the macabre discovery, a team is responsible for identifying the body, while the others remain at a distance. “We approach, we listen to the description made by the colleagues who must have identified the corpse, but we don’t go so far as to look ourselves, we are too afraid of being shocked by what we are going to discover, we suspect that it is a horror”, reports the man.

Faced with the horror, however, the police had to keep their cool.

Despite the traumatic nature of the situation, the police have no choice but to maintain their composure to carry out the investigation. But for some, the backlash has been particularly complicated.

To respond to the trauma, the 19th arrondissement police station has decided to open a psychological help cell to support police officers who so wish. Thus, a psychologist is available to all agents who require follow-up while maintaining their anonymity.
