NEW YORK (Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021) Major League Soccer announced today that Rubio Rubin, Real Salt Lake forward, has been named the 2021 AT&T Goal Of The Year. His jaw-dropping kick on a bicycle in RSL’s match against the San Jose Earthquakes was May 7.

He took control with his chest and then launched an overhead kick that left Quakes goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski without a chance ( WATCH). Rubin’s goal was one of eight for the season, his first season in Major League Soccer.

The 2021 AT&T MLS Goal Of The Year was decided by fans on MLSsoccer.com. It has been presented since 1996, when the league was founded.
