Today, a man was killed in a crash involving two vehicles in the state’s Central West.

Following reports of a crash involving two vehicles, emergency services were dispatched to Tomingley’s Newell Highway at 4.20 p.m. today, Sunday 6 February 2022.

Police were informed that a blue hatchback driven by a female learner license holder aged 24 and accompanied by two female passengers, a 27-year old woman and an 11 month-old baby girl, was involved in a head on collision with a brown 4WD driven 67-years-old male with a 64 year-old female passenger.

The scene was fatal for the 67-year old man. The 64-year old woman was in serious but stable condition when she was flown to Westmead Hospital.

The passenger, 27-years-old, and the driver of the hatchback were treated on the spot by paramedics from NSW Ambulance. They were then taken to Dubbo Base Hospital for minor injuries.

As a precaution, the 28-year old man and his baby were flown to Westmead Children’s Hospital.

Both the supervising driver and the driver of the hatchback will have to pass mandatory testing.

Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District secured a crime scene. They are now waiting for specialist police from Crash Investigation Unit to inspect the scene and investigate the causes of the crash.

Police urge anyone with any information or footage from a dashcam to immediately contact them as the investigation continues.
