During a special program on the death of the Strasbourg-assassin Chérif Chekatt the French television station BFMTV, a macabre mishap: About a Minute long night of Bob Marley’s “I Shot the Sheriff was heard late on Thursday,” across the channel. Chekatt had recently been shot and killed by police in Strasbourg.

After numerous spectators had expressed in the social networks, outraged, apologized BFMTV on Friday on its Website and in TV ads. The station said it had come during the Live broadcast to a technical fault. Trigger of the incident is a “user error” by the competent engineer.

“We apologize to our viewers for this incident which was obviously not intended by us,” wrote the TV station. BFMTV announced investigations in to the incident to be investigated fully.
