According to a study by Ifop* in partnership with Femme Actuelle carried out in 2020 on the French and parasciences, 58% of respondents say they believe in at least one of these disciplines, including astrology (41%), the lines of the hand (29%), sorcery (28%), clairvoyance (26%), numerology (26%) and cartomancy (23%).
As a reminder, astrology is based on the belief that the position of the stars at the time of your birth can define not only your character, but also your destiny. *The survey was conducted with a sample of 1,007 people, representative of the French population aged 18 and over. The representativeness of the sample was ensured by the quota method (sex, age, profession of the person questioned) after stratification by region and category of agglomeration.
