Barely 20 years old, the young woman from Chambéry can boast of having more than 11 million subscribers on Instagram, outclassing reality TV stars like Nabilla, Jazz or Milla Jasmine on this same social network. Far from this controversial universe, Léa Elui became known for her talents as a belly dancer on Musical.ly (now TikTok).
Asked by Gala, the influencer confided in her debut on the video platform. “I was watching dance videos that amused me. I wanted to do the same thing to see,” she admitted to our colleagues. By offering the same content, she did not expect this sudden 2.0 popularity, reaching up to 17.5 million fans on this social network and 1.14 million subscribers on YouTube.
Passionate about fashion and beauty, the bilingual videographer close to her community has nevertheless been the subject of strong criticism and harassment. A popularity that also stirs up jealousy in his village. “Young people in my village are now using social networks to attack me. Recently, we even threw stones in my path,” she told Gala. Despite this hatred, Léa Elui managed to catch the eye of Baptiste Giabiconi who took him under his wing as a mentor.
Léa Elui is one of the candidates for season 12 of Dancing with the Stars. Still in competition, the young influencer had to exceptionally change partners on Friday, October 7th.
