The sun is shining in the sky, the temperatures are rising: summer is here. This season rhymes with the holidays which should soon begin for many families. Unlike in previous years, trips abroad should this time be more numerous, especially in Europe.

Indeed, in 2020 as in 2021, the strong presence of Covid-19 significantly affected the tourism sector. Many states had thus decided to keep their borders closed to limit the risk of the disease spreading.

This year, most countries are open for foreign travellers. It is even possible to visit a number of them without having to present a health pass.

However, even if the summer season and the lifting of health restrictions tend to make us forget it, the pandemic is not over.

A seventh wave seems to be looming across Europe where more and more countries are witnessing an increase in the number of cases. In France on June 28, 2022, 147,248 new cases were recorded, according to Santé Publique France. This figure shows an increase of 54.6% in seven days.

Are you planning to travel abroad this summer? In several other countries such as Italy, Germany or, to a lesser extent, Spain, we are also seeing the spread of a new wave. If in France, most health restrictions have, for the moment, been lifted, this is not necessarily the case for all these countries which wish to protect themselves from Covid-19.
