This year was marked by the disbursement of multiple aids. Indeed, in the face of galloping inflation and soaring energy prices, the executive has put in place several legislative packages called “for purchasing power”. Some of these aids continue in December, others end, and still others are added to the list. The exceptional energy check, for example, intended for the 40% of the most modest households, will be paid again in December to all beneficiaries, as reported by Le Parisien.

In the energy check family, we are witnessing the arrival in December of a youngest intended for precarious households heating with wood. Firewood has indeed seen its price soar in the face of a sharp increase in demand. The fuel oil energy check will also be paid in December, which amounts like its little wooden brother to a height of 50 to 200 euros. Finally, the energy check specifically designed for HLM tenants can be requested from 12 December.

The month of December will also see the payment of the traditional Christmas bonus to all recipients of social assistance. This bonus will be paid on December 15. On the same date, the so-called “repair bonus” will come into effect. This device will allow you to save money on the repair of a large number of electronic devices and household appliances!

Another date not to be missed, although it seems to have less important implications compared to the aids mentioned below: December 1st, date of opening of registrations for the draw giving the right to purchase tickets for the next Olympic Games. But the month of December is also synonymous with the end of several aids…

Indeed, the last month of the year will see the disappearance of several social systems. In particular, the end of the rebate of 10 cents on the liter of fuel at the pump. Aid in another, less generalized form should take over in 2023.

The gas price freeze will also end during the month of December. Another bonus that we will no longer be able to benefit from in 2023: aid for the purchase of bicycles. These discounts on the purchase price amount to 150 euros for a new bicycle, and from 400 to 1,000 euros for the purchase of an electric bicycle.

Another thing ending on December 1 are the drought restrictions, in place in particular in the Rhône, Bouches-du-Rhône, and Alpes-Maritimes. Only a few territories will see these restrictions extended by two weeks.

Finally, new developments will also be felt at the level of taxes.

First of all, know that if you have made your tax return online, you still have until December 14 to correct any errors. Then, be aware that the deadline for paying your housing tax as well as the tax on vacant housing is set for December 20 for people who have made their declaration online. If you do not use a dematerialized method of payment, the deadline for payment for these taxes is however set at 15 December.
