Colorado beats Oregon in Pac-12 tourney semifinals

Colorado (21-10) advances to Friday’s semifinals. They will be attempting to beat Arizona, top-seeded and second in the rankings, for the second time this season. Arizona won 79-63 at their home on February 26th.

Walker made a three point play to take a 63-60 lead. He then sank a 3 pointer in the shot clock to make it 72 63 with just 4:02 left. The rest of the game, Colorado was ahead by at least eight points.

KJ Simpson, a freshman from Colorado, added 13 points and seven rebounds to Colorado’s total. He also had six assists. Tristan da Silva scored 12 points. Walker had 11 points and nine rebounds, while Battey scored his first double-double season.

Colorado was trailing by seven at the half-way mark. But, after a 12-0 run, Colorado built a lead of 36-30.

Quincy Guerrier scored a record 25 points and had 13 rebounds for Oregon (20-13). Jacob Young scored 18 points, with seven assists. Eric Williams Jr. added 10 more points, and N’Faly Dante grabbed eleven rebounds.
Will Richardson, Oregon’s scoring leader, was unable to play for the third consecutive game due to a non-COVID condition. Richardson, who averages 14.1 points, 3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game, didn’t travel with the team on their trip to Las Vegas.
