According to an Ifop* study conducted with the Jean Jaurès Foundation in 2020, “58% say they believe in at least one of the parascience disciplines, namely astrology (41%), the lines of the hand (29%) , witchcraft (28%), clairvoyance (26%), numerology (26%) and cartomancy (23%)”.
Astrology, which remains the most widespread and popular, is a parascience based on the fact that the position of the stars would influence our personality, our destiny or our compatibility with others.
This parascience could therefore, by definition, predispose us to have certain character traits… Like being thrifty, miserly, generous or even a spendthrift.
