After a scandal and accusations of the leadership style in the Palestinian work of UNRWA aid to get the UN-organization with a new boss. Secretary-General, António Guterres, appointed to the Swiss Philippe Lazzarini the new UNRWA Commissioner-General. The UN spokesman Stepháne Dujarric said on Wednesday.
Lazzarini was since 2015, the Deputy special coordinator for the UN in Lebanon. The Swiss-Italian dual citizen Lazzarini follows Pierre Krähenbühl, who resigned last year after serious allegations against the management of the organization (United Nations Relief and Works Agency/UNRWA). Internal complaints had led to investigations because of mismanagement.
