The number of unemployed in Germany fell in December to the lowest monthly value since 1991. Thus, approximately 2,210 million people were without a Job in the last month of the year 2018, as a thief undesagentur(BA) announced on Friday in Nuremberg. Compared to the previous month, mainly due to the weather were approximately 23,000 job seekers more than in November. In comparison to the previous year, the number of people in employment was free, however, to 175.000. The unemployment rate increased between November and December by 0.1 points to 4.9 percent.

In the total year 2018, an average of 2,340 million people without a Job –and so few since the German reunification. The number of job seekers decreased year-on-year by 193,000. The average unemployment rate fell by 0.5 points to 5.2 percent, as the BA said.

The increase in the number of unemployed in December, the Federal Agency attributed solely to the Winter. BA-Chairman of the Board Detlef Scheel spoke of a very positive development: “This is also due to the positive economic development,” he said. “Encouraging the decline of long-term unemployment and progress in the labour market integration of fugitive people.”

on a seasonally adjusted basis, the number of job seekers fell. The seasonal adjusted unemployment figure was in December, at 2,261 million. Thus, approximately 14,000 men and women were less of a Job than in November –in the West, the number fell to 9000, to the East by a good 5000.

The number of people employed was according to the extrapolation of the Federal Statistical office in November 45,22 million -34.000 more than in the previous month. In comparison to the previous year, there were 483.000 employed.
